The purpose of this project was to create a sample site to show clients the full capability of Olympic Software's eCommerce software. Previously, the software had been used more for large scale enterprise businesses and they wanted to show that it could be utilised for businesses of any size.
Working closely with the Consultant and lead software engineer, I put together a concept for a hypothetical, online coffee store in Adobe XD. Under time pressure (for an upcoming client demo), the concept needed to be recreated quickly by developers in the eCommerce software, while presenting all the right ideas to potential clients. Clients needed to see the potential for intriguing their customers, presented in a way that they could see the site being personalised to fit their own business.
I researched popular eCommerce trends for direction, and started to draw up rough wireframes of each of the pages required. As this project needed to appeal to a range of clients, I went with a fairly simple design, easy for the users to navigate in a familiar way.
The home page has a variety of information on it, to draw customers in directly to products or categories they might be interested in.
One of the main areas we wanted to highlight was the product listings page. In this page, I added thorough filters so that users can drill down to find exactly what they need, or browse freely.
